Diplomatic Efforts Helped Increase the Number

In November 2024, Bangladesh’s interim Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus met Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb in Cairo and requested an increase in scholarship numbers.

Earlier, during a meeting in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, the Grand Imam had also promised to expand opportunities for Bangladeshi students. This year’s results reflect those commitments.

Student Organisations Congratulate the Awardees

The General Secretary of the Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Egypt, Ittihad, Muhammad Absar Uddin, congratulated the recipients.

He added that the university’s generous support will further inspire Bangladeshi students and strengthen their academic progress.

Bangladeshi Students Thank the Government

Al-Azhar student Ibrahim Khalil Majumder said that improved diplomatic activities helped Bangladesh secure more scholarships this year. He said,

“বাংলাদেশের কূটনৈতিক তৎপরতা বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ার কারণেই এ বছর রেকর্ড সংখ্যক বাংলাদেশি ছাত্র স্কলারশিপ পেয়েছে।”
Translation: “Because of Bangladesh’s stronger diplomatic initiatives, a record number of Bangladeshi students received scholarships this year.”

He also expressed hope that continued cooperation will bring more benefits for Bangladeshi expatriates in Egypt.
