A shocking robbery took place at Krishi Bank’s Purbo Rupsha branch in Khulna. Robbers broke into the locker and took away Tk 16 lakh. The incident is believed to have happened between Thursday evening and Friday night. Police are now analyzing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
How the Robbery Happened
According to police and local sources, the robbery occurred sometime between Thursday evening (August 14) and Friday night (August 15). Since Thursday was the last working day of the week, the bank was closed after the evening. There were no guards on duty at night, which gave the robbers a chance to break in.
On Friday night around 10:00 PM, the security guard noticed that the collapsible gate of the bank’s main entrance had its lock cut. He immediately informed the locals, who then reported the matter to Rupsha police station. Police rushed to the spot soon after.
