25 Sanatan Community Members Join Jamaat
In Chapainawabganj, 25 members of the Sanatan (Hindu) community officially joined Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
On Sunday (14 September) at around 12 noon, they filled out the primary membership forms at the Chapainawabganj district Jamaat office.
The matter was confirmed by Professor Latifur Rahman, central committee member of Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP of Chapainawabganj-3 constituency.

Names of New Members
Some of the new members who joined Jamaat include:
Shree Suman Karmakar Saha, Sukumar Paramanik, Shree Chandan Das, Shree Sudarshan Mondal, Bakshanath Thakur, Joynal Chowdhury, Kanai Chowdhury, Bharat Chowdhury, Satish Mondal, Babul Mondal, Situ Mondal, Sumal Mondal, Dolon Mondal, Montu Lal Chowdhury, and others.
All of them are residents of Ward No. 2 of Chapainawabganj Municipality.
Led by Suman Karmakar Saha
The new members joined under the leadership of Shree Suman Karmakar Saha.
He said:
“আমার নেতৃত্বে ১৮ থেকে ২০ জন জামায়াতে যোগদান করেছি। তাদের আদর্শিক ও রাজনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ড আমাদের পছন্দ হওয়ায় যোগদান করেছি।”
Translation: “Under my leadership, around 18 to 20 people have joined Jamaat. We liked their ideological and political activities, and that is why we joined.”
Jamaat’s View on the Joining
Professor Latifur Rahman explained the reason behind the joining. He said:
“বিভিন্ন পেশা ও মতের মানুষের মাঝে আমাদের দাওয়াতি কার্যক্রম চলমান আছে। তার ধারাবাহিকতায় চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ পৌরসভার ২নং ওয়ার্ডে বেশ কিছু হিন্দু জনগোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে জামায়াতে ইসলামীর দাওয়াত প্রদান করা হলে ২৫ জন হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বী জামায়াতের সদস্য ফরম পূরণ করে দলটির প্রতি সমর্থন জানান।”
Translation: “Our preaching activities are continuing among people of different professions and beliefs. As part of this, we reached out to the Hindu community in Ward No. 2 of Chapainawabganj Municipality. After receiving our invitation, 25 Hindus filled out the membership forms and expressed their support for Jamaat.”)
He also added:
“জামায়াতের গঠনতন্ত্র মোতাবেক রাজনৈতিক ও অর্থনৈতিক কার্যক্রমের সাথে একমত হলে যেকোন ধর্মের বর্নের লোক জামায়াতে ইসলামী দলে যোগদান করতে পারবেন।”
Translation: “According to Jamaat’s constitution, anyone from any religion or community can join Jamaat if they agree with its political and economic activities.”
Finally, he said their invitation and activities will spread further in the future.
