Players Demand Ban on Israel
International athletes have united to demand a ban on Israel from football competitions. A total of 50 current and former players has signed a letter addressed to UEFA, the governing body of European football.

Famous Names in the List
The signatories include some well-known sports personalities such as English cricketer Moeen Ali, British boxer Jack Chelli, and French midfielder Paul Pogba.
Reason Behind the Demand
The players said their call comes in response to the brutal killings in Gaza. Recently, there has been growing pressure to remove Israel from the global football stage because of these incidents.

Turkey’s Step Earlier
Earlier, on September 26, the Turkish Football Federation also wrote to FIFA, UEFA, and other football associations. In their letter, they demanded that Israel be banned from all competitive football events.
