Biman Bangladesh Plane Lands Safely After Wheel Falls Off
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight safely made an emergency landing at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport even after one of its wheels fell off. The flight came from Cox’s Bazar and had a total of 71 passengers, including children, onboard.

The incident happened on Friday (May 16), shortly after 2:30 PM. After receiving the emergency signal, the airport authority took quick action. The flight was able to land safely without any injuries. A source from the airport confirmed this information.

Runway Temporarily Closed
Because of the emergency, the airport runway was closed for a short time. As a safety measure, ambulances and fire service vehicles were also kept ready near the runway in case of any accident.
Details of the Incident
The flight number was BG 436, and the aircraft was a Dash 8-400 model.Following the departure from Cox’s Bazar Airport, one of the back wheels broke off and landed on the ground.
According to Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ General Manager (Public Relations), ABM Ruhul Kabir, their engineering staff was standing beside the runway at Shahjalal Airport in order to offer assistance. He also said that an emergency landing was declared immediately after the problem was detected.
Experts Say It’s Still Possible to Land
Biman’s technical specialists say that even if one of the back wheels is gone, a plane may still land safely. The flight landed without any serious problems because of the competent pilots and the prompt action of the airport staff.
