Before Finishing HSC, Mahadi Gets Scholarship Offers Worth Tk 10 Crore

Mahadi Gets Scholarship

Even before completing his HSC exams, Mahadi Ibrahim, a student of Sena Public School and College in Savar, received scholarship and financial aid offers worth around Tk 10 crore from six universities in the United States. He has decided to study at Texas Tech University.

This may sound unbelievable, but his success is the result of hard work, proper guidance, family support, and a strong commitment to his future.

Early Life Abroad

Mahadi spent a big part of his school life in Malaysia, studying at Kelantan International School, where his parents worked as researchers. Studying with classmates from different countries helped him understand the value and diversity of international education.

He returned to Bangladesh in 2018 and joined Jahangirnagar University School and College. It was tough for him to adjust from English to Bengali curriculum, especially in writing Bengali. But during the Covid-19 lockdown, he worked hard from home and became skilled in the NCTB curriculum. Later, he passed SSC from Sena Public School with an A+ grade.

Step-by-Step Preparation for His Dream

After SSC, Mahadi started preparing for his future. He gave the SAT exam during his holidays. He took part in national-level debate competitions and won 3rd place in BTV’s school-college debate contest.

He also joined robotics camps, business festivals, and earned a silver medal in martial arts in Malaysia. These achievements made his student profile strong. Throughout this journey, his parents played a big role—his father supported all his decisions, and his mother was a quiet source of inspiration.

What Helped Him Get the Scholarship

According to Mahadi, three things helped him achieve this big success:

Proper Guidance

Mahadi didn’t depend on any agency. He researched universities, prepared his applications, and looked for scholarships on his own. He said,

“Not everything is on the internet. You need proper strategy and advice from experienced people.”

Balanced Profile

He always knew where he wanted to apply and what kind of support he needed. He planned his academic results, extra-curricular activities, and volunteer work accordingly. He was involved in debate, research, robotics, social work, and international youth clubs. He even organized Savar’s first inter-school festival ‘NTHO’.

Courage to Take Risks

He knew this journey was risky and could even affect his HSC results. But he stayed confident and took the risk.

His Own Way of Learning English

Mahadi never took coaching for English. He learned by reading books, watching movies, and practicing regularly. He proved his English skills by passing the Duolingo English Test.

His Message to Other Students

Mahadi believes that getting into a good university is not the final goal. The real goal is to become a skilled, aware, and responsible person.

His advice to young students is:

“Book knowledge is not enough. You need to be aware of career options, improve communication skills, and have a clear plan for your future. Start building your English skills and confidence now. You must take responsibility for your own life.”

In the end, Mahadi said,

“A dream that is only for yourself is a small dream. The real ‘Bangladeshi Dream’ should be to do something meaningful for your country.”
