The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Satkhira has expressed concerns that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) might use force or open fire along the border. This raises serious risks for any Bangladeshi citizens who attempt to cross the border illegally. Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashraful Haque, commander of the 33rd BGB Battalion, issued a warning on Tuesday (October 1st), urging people to stay away from the border to avoid potentially life-threatening incidents.
In his statement, he stressed that crossing the border illegally or without caution could lead to dangerous consequences, as the BSF may respond with force. He called on everyone, especially those living near the border, to avoid attempting to cross it, warning of the risks to life if BSF action is triggered. Additionally, the commander requested that citizens report any illegal border crossing activities to the BGB as soon as possible to prevent such incidents.
