The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has officially launched its newly designed website on Saturday, 28 June 2025. According to a press release, the new platform aims to make the country’s investment ecosystem more accessible and improve the overall experience for both local and international investors.
Focus on Promising Investment Sectors
The new website puts special focus on high-potential sectors identified in BIDA’s FDI heatmap. It also offers detailed information and services for investors, including:
-
Updated policy guidelines
-
Key services for investors
-
Contact details of focal points from related ministries and agencies
The website has been completely reorganized, and BIDA’s logo has also been redesigned to reflect this fresh approach.

Why a Well-Designed Website Matters
Speaking about the importance of the platform, Nahiyan Rahman Rochi, Head of BIDA’s Business Development Department, said that foreign investors usually evaluate investment opportunities in a country based on the information available on official websites.
“A well-organized website helps answer investor queries and highlight the country’s competitive advantages,” he said.
“This type of platform plays a crucial role in guiding investors from exploring opportunities to evaluating markets and finally connecting with the right ecosystem for implementation.”
He emphasized that a website can often shape an investor’s first impression and influence whether they choose one country over another.
A Step Towards Investor-Centred Services
Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of BIDA, noted that the old website was more like a typical government portal and wasn’t well-equipped to actively support investment.
“The new website reflects our commitment to a clear and strategically engaging, investor-centred service model,” he said.
“We are informing strategic investors and partners about this transformation so they can better understand Bangladesh’s dedication to building an investor-friendly environment.”
