Nahid Islam, Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), firmly stated that the party will not tolerate any delay regarding the Teesta Master Plan. “It must be implemented realistically,” he said during a road rally on the second day of the “March for Nation-Building July Campaign” in Kurigram, Wednesday (July 2).
Nahid declared, “The era of bowing to India is over—this is the dawn of a proud, sovereign Bangladesh built on freedom, dignity, and national pride.”
He further added, “We joined the mass uprising out of love for our country and a deep sense of responsibility. We never craved power, but time demanded that we form a party. Without bold alternatives and young leadership, Bangladesh cannot move forward nor can the people’s revolution succeed.”

Earlier at the rally, he asserted, “In this new Bangladesh, we will not allow discrimination to exist. The future belongs to an equal and just Bangladesh.” NCP will unveil its manifesto for rebuilding the country on August 3 at the Central Shaheed Minar.
Meanwhile, South region organizer Hasnat Abdullah warned, “If autocracy and fascism return, the spirit of August 5 will rise again.”
Since morning, NCP leaders and activists have been moving through Kurigram with a motorcade, warmly welcomed by local supporters and citizens along the way.
