Wife Donates Kidney to Save Husband— But He Leaves Her for Another Woman

Wife Donates

A woman in Savar saved her husband’s life by donating her kidney. But instead of showing gratitude, the husband later got involved in an affair and online gambling. He even physically abused his wife and eventually threw her out of the house to live with his lover.

This painful and inhumane incident took place in the Kalma area of Savar. The wife, Tuni, has filed a case of domestic abuse against her husband, Tarek. Although Tarek was arrested, he is currently out on bail.

Tuni Gave Him Everything—Even Her Kidney

Tuni and Tarek had been married for just two years when she received terrible news—Tarek’s kidneys had failed. He needed regular dialysis to survive. Just a year earlier, the couple had welcomed their first child.

Despite the overwhelming situation, Tuni didn’t give up. She decided to take Tarek to India for better treatment. In India, doctors eventually said a kidney transplant was the only way to save his life.

Without hesitation, Tuni offered her own kidney to save her husband. She believed their difficult days were finally over.

Betrayal After Recovery

Sadly, after recovering, Tarek’s behaviour changed. He began an extramarital affair with another woman and became addicted to online gambling.

The same wife who had saved his life was now facing violence and cruelty. Tarek started physically abusing her and finally threw her out of their home. He now lives with his lover.

Their Life Before the Illness

According to family sources, Tuni (Umme Sahedina) was a college student when she married Tarek, who had been working in Malaysia, in 2006. A year later, they had a son named Azmain Dibbo. Life was going smoothly until 2008 when Tarek suddenly fell ill.

Doctors found that both of his kidneys were nearly non-functional, and he needed urgent dialysis. Tuni was devastated but determined to help.

Tuni Fought for Him with Everything She Had

Tuni refused to let Tarek depend on dialysis alone. After talking with her family, she decided to take him to CMC Hospital in Tamil Nadu, India. There, doctors confirmed that only 24% of his kidneys were working, and he’d need a transplant within 10 years.

Back in Dhaka, Tuni started a home beauty parlour and ran a small boutique. She earned Tk 40,000 to 50,000 per month, spending nearly all of it on Tarek’s treatment.

She also sold her gold jewellery and personal savings to cover the medical expenses. As advised by doctors, she had to take Tarek to India three times a year, each trip costing Tk 2–3 lakh. She managed all the expenses on her own.

The Final Betrayal

Despite everything she sacrificed—her health, her money, and her dreams—Tarek betrayed her trust. After regaining his health, he turned his back on the woman who gave him life and chose someone else.

Tuni is now seeking justice.
