Husband hacks wife to death with a knife over family dispute in Narayanganj, Husband surrenders to police station.
A horrific murder has taken place in Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila due to a family dispute. On Saturday (July 5), at around 12:30 am, a housewife named Bijli Akter Amena (30) was hacked to death by her husband Imran Hossain at Jahangir Mia’s rented house in Enayetnagar area. After the murder, the killer husband himself went to the police station and surrendered.
The deceased, Bijli Akhter Amena, is the daughter of Bahar Mia, a resident of Kandail village in Comilla district. She was married to Imran Hossain in her second marriage, who currently lives in Enayetnagar, Bandar upazila of Narayanganj.
The deceased’s younger sister, Brishti Akhter, said,
‘প্রায় নয় মাসে আগে আমেনার সঙ্গে ইমরানের বিয়ে হয়। এটি আমেনার দ্বিতীয় বিয়ে। তাদের মধ্যে প্রায় সময় পারিবারিক ও তুচ্ছ ঘটনা নিয়ে ঝগড়া হতো।’
Translation: “Imran married Amena about nine months ago. This is Amena’s second marriage. They often quarreled over family and trivial matters.”
She further said,
‘গত রাতে ইমরানের মোবাইল নিয়ে ভাগনের সঙ্গে কথা বলে আমেনা। এ সময় ইন্টারনেটের এমবি নিয়ে দুজনের মধ্যে ঝগড়া হয়। একপর্যায়ে আমেনাকে বঁটি দিয়ে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করেন ইমরান। আমি এ ঘটনার সুষ্ঠু বিচার চাই।’
Translation:”Last night, Amena talked to her nephew about Imran’s mobile phone. At that time, the two quarreled over the MB of internet. At one stage, Imran hacked Amena to death with a knife. I want a fair trial in this incident.”

Liaquat Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bandar Police Station, told the Bangla Tribune,
‘পারিবারিক কলহের জেরে স্ত্রীকে বঁটি দিয়ে তিনটি কোপ দিয়েছে স্বামী ইমরান হোসেন। এতে স্ত্রীর মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ ঘটনার পর স্বামী ইমরান থানায় এসে আত্মসমর্পণ করেছেন।’
Translation: “Due to a family dispute, the husband Imran Hossain beat his wife three times. As a result, the wife died. After this incident, the husband Imran came to the police station and surrendered.”
He further said,
‘এটি তাদের দুজনের দ্বিতীয় বিয়ে। উভয়ের আগের ঘরের সন্তান রয়েছে। নিহতের মরদেহ ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেনারেল হাসপাতালের মর্গে রাখা হয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় আইনি ব্যবস্থা প্রক্রিয়াধীন।’
Translation: “This is the second marriage of both of them. Both have children from previous marriages. The body of the deceased has been kept at the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action is under process in this incident.”
