Due to a low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and nearby regions, heavy rain has been falling in Dhaka and across the country. In the last 24 hours, Dhaka and surrounding areas recorded 45 millimetres of rainfall. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, this rain may continue for the next few days.
In response to this situation, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has taken special steps to prevent waterlogging in areas under its jurisdiction. Waste management teams in each ward are working continuously to clear drains and ensure water flows smoothly.

In addition, Emergency Response Teams have been formed for each ward to respond quickly to any waterlogging incidents.
If anyone sees any temporary waterlogging in any area under DSCC, they are strongly encouraged to report it to the DSCC Central Control Room at 01709900888.
This proactive approach aims to reduce public suffering during the rainy days ahead and ensure better city service during bad weather.
