DSE Sees Best Trading Day of the Year—Market Gains Strong Momentum

The country’s main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), had its best trading day of the year on Wednesday, 9 July 2025. All major indexes showed gains, and a large number of company shares saw price increases.

Key Highlights:

  • The main index, DSEX, rose by 53.82 points, ending the day at 5,035.46 points.

  • About 69% of the traded companies saw their share prices go up.

  • The market capitalization increased by Tk 3,969 crore compared to the previous day.

  • Total turnover was Tk 690 crore, the highest in over 8 months (157 trading days).

Index Performance:

  • DSEX: +53.82 points → 5,035.46

  • DS30: +18.82 points → 1,894.20

  • DSES: +10.35 points → 1,094.11

The day started strong, with the DSEX rising by 28 points in the first 25 minutes of trading. Though the pace slowed mid-session, the index picked up again and ended with solid gains.
