RAB Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman has made it clear that a criminal’s political affiliation or status doesn’t matter. “To us, a criminal is simply a criminal,” he said at a press briefing at the RAB Media Center in Kawran Bazar on Saturday (July 12).
He emphasized, “We’ll take strict action no matter how influential or from which party the criminal is.”

So far, five people have been arrested in connection with the incident, including two by RAB and three by police.
Urging the public not to engage in mob violence, the chief said the force is assisting DMP with a shadow investigation into the Mitford incident. He also assured that they are active in tackling crimes like extortion and mugging.
