BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has claimed that a serious conspiracy is going on to destroy BNP from every direction.
He said,
“বিএনপিকে নিয়ে এখন যে অপপ্রচার হচ্ছে, এর পেছনে সুনির্দিষ্ট চক্রান্ত রয়েছে”
(“There is a specific conspiracy behind the ongoing propaganda against BNP.”)
“BNP is Being Targeted from All Corners”
Fakhrul expressed concern that BNP is being discredited and attacked in a planned way.
“চতুর্দিক থেকে চেষ্টা হচ্ছে বিএনপিকে হেয়প্রতিপন্ন করবার, বিএনপিকে উড়িয়ে দেবার জন্য। সবচেয়ে মারাত্মক যেটা হয়েছে, ফর দ্য ফার্স্ট টাইম আমাদের নেতা তারেক রহমানের বিরুদ্ধে আক্রমণ হয়েছে। উনার নাম ধরে, উনাকে নিয়ে কথা বলা হয়েছে, যেটা খুবই অ্যালার্মিং।”
(“Efforts are being made from all directions to humiliate and erase BNP. The most serious thing is— for the first time, our leader Tarique Rahman has been directly attacked. His name is being mentioned, and things are being said about him, which is very alarming.”)
He made these remarks on Sunday, July 13, during a book launch event at Lakeshore Grand Hotel in Gulshan, Dhaka.
The event was for the book titled “Tarique Rahman: The Hope of Bangladesh”.
Call for Youth Involvement in Cyber Efforts
Speaking to the young members of BNP, Fakhrul urged them to actively join the digital space and fight back against anti-BNP propaganda.
“সাইবার নিয়ে কাজে করতে তরুণদের প্রবলভাবে আসা দরকার। কারও অনুমতি নেওয়ার দরকার নেই। (বিএনপির বিরুদ্ধে) যে ক্যাম্পেইনগুলো হচ্ছে এর উত্তর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে দেওয়ার জন্য তরুণদের এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। এই কথাগুলো এজন্য বললাম, মারাত্মক অ্যাটাকের শিকার হয়েছি, আমাদের ওপর সাইবার অ্যাটাক হয়েছে।”
(“Young people must come forward strongly to work in cyberspace. You don’t need anyone’s permission. You have to respond immediately to the campaigns going on against BNP. I’m saying this because we’ve been under serious attack — we’ve faced cyberattacks.”)
“BNP Can’t Be Erased So Easily”
Fakhrul firmly warned that BNP has survived worse times before and will rise again.
“বিএনপিকে এত সহজে তুড়ি মেরে উড়িয়ে দেওয়া যাবে না। বিএনপি বারবার প্রমাণ করেছে, ধ্বংসস্তূপের মাঝ থেকে জেগে উঠতে পারে। এ দল দেশের মানুষের বিশ্বাসের জায়গা, আন্দোলন-সংগ্রামের মধ্য দিয়ে গড়ে ওঠা শক্তি।”
(“BNP cannot be blown away with a snap of a finger. Time and again, BNP has proven that it can rise from the ashes. This party stands on the trust of the people, built through movements and struggles.”)

“You Must Read to Fight Back”
Fakhrul advised party members, especially those working in cyber teams, to increase their knowledge and understanding.
“তোমরা যারা এই কাজগুলো করছো। আরও বেশি মানুষকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে করো। আমাদের খুব বড় দুর্বলতা আছে। অনেকেই স্বীকার করবেন কিনা জানি না, আমরা পড়তে চাই না। পড়তে হবে সবাইকে। আজকে এখানে অনেকের কথা শুনে আমরা সমৃদ্ধ হলাম। পড়াশোনা যত বাড়ানো যাবে, লড়াই তত শক্তভাবে করা যাবে। পড়তে হবে সব বিষয়ে। ওরা কীভাবে আক্রমণ করছে, এটা জানতে হবে।”
(“Those of you doing this work— bring in more people. We have a major weakness. I don’t know if everyone will admit it, but we don’t want to read. We must read. Listening to many speakers here today enriched us. The more we read, the stronger our fight will be. We must read about everything. We must know how they are attacking us.”)
