Bangladeshi Fisherman Killed by Myanmar Navy Gunfire near Saint Martin’s Island

A Myanmar Navy gunshot in the Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar caused the life of a Bangladeshi fisherman. This occurrence also injured two more people.

Executive Officer (UNO) Adnan Chowdhury of Teknaf Upazila confirmed the occurrence on Thursday, October 10.

Mohammed Osman was the victim’s first name. He lives in Teknaf 8’s Konapara area. The names of the two injured are Raju and Rafiq. They live in the same area as well.

According to Troller owner Saiful, while fishing at sea, the members of the Myanmar Navy were unexpectedly shot and fired upon. After being shot by the troller, one in four people lost their lives. Five trolls later travelled to Myanmar. On Thursday, they left the troller. The troller that carried the fishermen’s bodies has arrived at Shahparir Island. However, it hasn’t yet arrived.

Since the beginning of this year, there has been a fight between the junta government and rebels in the Bangladesh-Bangladesh region of Myanmar. All contacts in St. Martin had to be isolated in a few phases of shots fired from the Myanmar border.
