A high-profile delegation from Bangladesh has started a week-long visit to China to promote the country as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI).
The team is being led by Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, who is the Executive Chairman of both the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (Beza).
Key Representatives from Banking Sector Join
Alongside officials from Bida and Beza, the delegation also includes representatives from top financial institutions such as HSBC, Standard Chartered Bangladesh, and Citibank NA. These banks are expected to play a vital role in supporting investment-related financial services for potential investors.

Chairman’s Remarks Before Departure
Speaking before the journey, Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun expressed optimism about the visit:

Visit Locations and Schedule
The visit will take place in Shanghai and Guangzhou from 20 July to 26 July. During this time, the delegation will attend a number of important meetings, networking sessions, and business discussions.
Major Business Seminar in Shanghai
One of the key highlights of the visit will be a business seminar in Shanghai on 21 July, jointly arranged by Bida and the Embassy of Bangladesh in China.
Over 100 Chinese investors and companies are expected to attend the seminar. These companies represent major industries such as:
