The High Court has ordered all educational institutions in Bangladesh to include the phone numbers of parents or guardians on student ID cards. Additionally, students’ blood groups must also be mentioned on their ID cards.
This decision was made on Tuesday (July 22) by the High Court bench of Justice Fahmida Khatun and Justice Syed Zahed Mansur during a primary hearing on a public interest petition.
Education Secretary Ordered to Implement the Decision
The court directed the Education Secretary to take immediate steps to ensure this rule is applied across all schools and colleges in the country.
Special Investigation Team for Milestone Plane Crash
The court has also instructed the government to form a special expert investigation committee within seven days to look into the recent Air Force training jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, which caused many student deaths and injuries.

Court Orders Compensation and Foreign Treatment
The High Court issued the following additional rulings:

Compensation of Tk 5 crore for each student killed in the incident.

Tk 1 crore for each injured student.

Arrangements must be made to send injured students, teachers, and guardians abroad for better treatment.

The court also ordered that advanced fire safety systems be installed in all educational institutions.
Ban Sought on Faulty Aircraft Flying in Crowded Areas
The court has also raised concerns about the safety of aircraft flying over densely populated areas. It issued a rule asking the government to explain why defective aircraft and fighter jets should not be banned from flying over these regions.
