After the tragic plane crash involving students at Milestone School and College, the National Citizen Party has said the entire nation is now going through a mental trauma. In a press statement on 22 July, the party expressed sorrow for the loss and blamed the government for failing to act responsibly and humanely, which has made the situation worse.
Irresponsible Decision on HSC Exam Timing
The party has strongly criticized the role of the government advisers in handling the situation, especially the education adviser. They pointed out that the education adviser announced the postponement of the HSC exams at 3:00 am, which created unnecessary panic and confusion among students.

“The education adviser announced the decision to postpone the HSC exams at 3:00 am, creating deep uncertainty and anxiety among students.”
They also mentioned that this late-night decision shows a lack of coordination among government advisers and reflects irresponsibility in a time of national crisis.
Support for Students’ Six Demands
The National Citizen Party extended full support to the six demands raised by Milestone College students, saying that these are logical and should be fulfilled immediately. They also accused the education adviser of failing to lead responsibly during a sensitive period.

“Some advisers, especially the education adviser, have acted very irresponsibly and confused the nation by making delayed decisions.”
