A 13-year-old student named Makin Sarkar, from Milestone School, has passed away after fighting for her life for three days. She was among the victims injured in the recent tragic plane crash connected to the Milestone School incident.
On that day, Makin had probably packed her school bag like any other morning, dreaming of returning home with her mother after class. But fate had other plans. A sudden disaster took away her life, dreams, and future in a flash.

Lost the Battle at the Burn Unit
Makin was undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. She was in critical condition from the start, and despite doctors’ best efforts, she passed away on Friday, 25 July, in the afternoon. She was a 7th-grade student.
Dozens Still in Hospitals
Currently, around 50 people injured in the Milestone-related incident are still being treated in hospitals across Dhaka. Among them, five patients at the burn unit remain in extremely critical condition.
Doctors from Abroad Assisting
Dr. Nasir Uddin, Director of the National Burn Institute, informed the media that patients are being categorized based on their condition to ensure proper treatment. Medical teams from Singapore and China are also involved in the treatment process.
So far, 15 patients have shown signs of recovery and are expected to be discharged within a day or two.
High Security at the Hospital
Security around the hospital has been significantly tightened. The army, police, RAB, and air force personnel are maintaining strict watch in and around the burn institute to ensure the safety and smooth operation of medical services.
Government Covers Medical Costs
The National Burn Institute confirmed that there is currently no need for blood or skin donors. The government has committed to covering all medical expenses for the injured victims.
