The National Citizens Party (NCP) has demanded at least two days of government holidays a week for all professionals. The party’s chief coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwary made the demand at a view-sharing meeting on August 1. At the same event, Senior Joint Member Secretary Abdul Hannan Masud said that the ‘July Uprising’ was a collective achievement of people from all walks of life and no particular group can take credit for it alone. He criticized those professionals who expressed loyalty to the autocratic government.

সকল পেশাজীবীদের জন্য সপ্তাহে অন্তত দুইদিন সরকারি ছুটি চায় এনসিপি।
Translation: The NCP wants at least two days of government leave a week for all professionals.

In the same event, NCP Senior Joint Member Secretary Abdul Hannan Masud said,
জুলাই অভ্যুত্থান সবার, কোনো নির্দিষ্ট গোষ্ঠী কৃতিত্ব নিতে পারবে না। সকল শ্রেণীর পেশার মানুষের সম্মিলিত প্রচেষ্টার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশ স্বৈরাচারমুক্ত হয়েছে। দেশের মানুষ আজ শান্তিতে নিশ্বাস নিতে পারছে।
Translation: The July Uprising belongs to everyone, no specific group can take credit. Bangladesh has been freed from dictatorship through the collective efforts of people from all walks of life. The people of the country can breathe in peace today.
However, he criticized all the professionals who followed in Sheikh Hasina’s footsteps at that time.
