It has been one year since Tahmid Abdullah Ayon, a dedicated student and activist of BUBT, passed away after being critically injured in police firing during the student movement against dictatorship. His death marked a sorrowful moment in Bangladesh’s fight for justice and democracy.

On August 5, 2024, Tahmid Abdullah Ayon, a student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE, Intake-51) at Bangladesh University Business and Technology (BUBT), was seriously injured by police gunfire near Mirpur Model Police Station. He was actively involved in the student movement against dictatorship.
After being shot, Ayon was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Despite receiving medical care, he succumbed to his injuries on August 11, 2024.
This tragic loss left a deep impact on the student community and the country as a whole. Tahmid Ayon became a symbol of the sacrifices made by young students in the struggle for democracy and freedom.
