Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor, paid a visit to Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday to view the graffiti created by young revolutionaries during the student-led demonstrations in July and August.
The artwork displayed on the campus walls has come to symbolize the youth-led campaign for change.
During the visit, Prof. Yunus was accompanied by Asif Mahmud, the Adviser for Youth and Sports; Dr. Asif Nazrul, the Adviser for Law; Mahfuj Alam, the Special Assistant; and Nahid Islam, the Adviser for Information and Broadcasting.
Following the student-led revolution of July and August, Dr. Yunus assumed the role of Chief Advisor to the interim government and directed the relevant authorities to publish an artbook featuring the best graffiti created by young people on the walls of Dhaka and other cities. This resulted in the release of an artbook titled *The Art of Triumph*.
Graffiti gained global attention during the anti-discrimination movement, with Dhaka becoming its epicenter. The city’s walls transformed into a vast canvas of protest, featuring numerous creative and morally charged poems and slogans that conveyed powerful messages to the authorities. These artistic expressions reflect the spirit of the revolution and the aspirations of Bangladesh’s underprivileged. Through their artwork, students demonstrated solidarity with their countrymen, as noted in a release.
The students’ visually striking and artistic creations have revolutionized the fine arts scene across Dhaka. Many of these graffiti pieces have gone viral on social media, garnering widespread praise.
