Dhaka Bank MD Sheikh Mohammad Maroof has stepped down from his role as the Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Bank. He submitted his resignation on 14 August, citing personal reasons, after serving less than a year in the position.

Dhaka Bank MD Sheikh Mohammad Maroof officially resigned from his position as the Managing Director of Dhaka Bank. His resignation letter was submitted on 14 August to the bank’s Chairman, Abdul Hai Sarker.

Reason Behind the Resignation
Confirming the matter on 17 August, Maroof explained that the decision was personal.
“আমি ব্যক্তিগত কারণে পদত্যাগ করেছি।”
Translation: “I resigned due to personal reasons.”
Career at Dhaka Bank
Maroof joined Dhaka Bank as the Managing Director in October 2024. His appointment was seen as a major move for the bank’s leadership, as he brought years of experience in the banking sector.
Previous Role at City Bank
Before joining Dhaka Bank, Mohammad Maroof served as the Additional Managing Director (AMD) at City Bank, where he contributed significantly to the institution’s growth and operations.
