On Tuesday, August 19, after a meeting at the Election Commission office in Agargaon with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A. M. M. Nasir Uddin, EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller stated, “The European Union will provide 4 million euros to help organize elections in Bangladesh according to international standards.”
EU Delegation Discusses Project
Earlier, at 11 a.m., a six-member delegation from the European Union held a meeting with the CEC. During the discussion, they talked about a project funded by the EU to support election processes.

Pre-Election Observer Team Scheduled to Arrive
EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed that a pre-election observation team from the European Union is expected to arrive in mid-September.
The main aim of this support is to ensure transparency, fairness, and international credibility in Bangladesh’s elections. The EU’s initiative will help improve the overall standards of the electoral system.
