A violent clash broke out once again between students of Dhaka College and City College in the Science Lab area of Dhaka. At least five students were injured and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Police have been deployed to control the situation. The clash reportedly started from a minor incident but escalated quickly, repeating a long-standing tension between the two institutions.
The Clash in Science Lab Area
On Wednesday morning (20 August 2025), around 11:30 am, students from Dhaka College and City College got into a clash in the Science Lab area of the capital. Witnesses said that a small issue turned into a fight, leaving several students injured.
Police sources confirmed that two students from Dhaka College and three students from City College were hurt during the incident.

Police Confirmation
New Market Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) A.K.M. Mahfuzul Haque confirmed the matter and said additional police were deployed in the area to prevent further violence.
He stated:
“Five students from the two colleges were injured. Last Tuesday, City College students assaulted two Dhaka College students. This morning, based on that incident, one student’s shirt was pulled and torn. Immediately after, the clash began between the groups. Police have been deployed to control the situation.”
Ongoing Tensions Between the Two Colleges
The conflict between Dhaka College and City College students has a long history. Police officials mentioned that last week, Dhaka College students were attacked, which sparked further tension. Today’s incident was a continuation of that previous conflict.
