DC Sarwar Warns Looters: “Remove One More Stone, Life Will Be Complicated”

Sylhet’s new District Commissioner (DC) Md. Sarwar Alam has vowed to restore the stolen stones of Sadapathar to their original place. He emphasized strict action against looters and assured the public that all necessary measures will be taken to investigate and prevent further theft. During an inspection, he also directed local authorities to seize stones from crushers in Companyganj.

Sadapathar Restoration Underway

After inspecting Sadapathar on Thursday (21 August 2025), DC Sarwar Alam told reporters:

“We are locating the stolen stones and reinstalling them. I hope the Sadapathar will be restored to its original condition in a few days.”

The administration is focusing on three main steps:

  1. Restoring the stolen stones.

  2. Taking action against the looters.

  3. Preventing further theft.

Raid at Crushers in Companyganj

After the inspection, DC Sarwar led a raid at three crusher sites in Companyganj. He instructed the local administration to seize the stones found there.

During the operation, he warned:

“Remove one more stone, and life will be complicated. Wherever anyone tries to remove stones along the Bangladesh border, the criminals will be caught from there.”

Full Investigation Promised

DC Sarwar Alam added:

“All necessary steps will be taken to return Sadapathar to its original form. We will investigate who was involved in this theft, why it happened, and how it happened. The public has raised their voice against this looting.”

The DC emphasized that the administration is committed to protecting Sadapathar and preventing any future theft attempts.
