Incident at Bashundhara Campus

A teacher of viqarunnisa noon school and College’s Bashundhara campus has been temporarily suspended after allegations surfaced that she forced 22 students out of class for wearing the hijab. The suspension order was issued today, Tuesday, through a notice signed by the institution’s Acting Principal, Majeda Begum.

Decision by Ad-Hoc Committee

According to the notice, the action was taken following a complaint that 22 sixth-grade students of the Bashundhara morning shift were removed from a classroom for wearing the hijab. The decision to suspend the teacher was made in line with the resolution of the school’s ad-hoc committee.

Show-Cause Notice Issued

The suspension order also mentioned that the teacher has been served with a show-cause notice. She has been asked to explain, within seven working days, why she should not be permanently dismissed from service.
