Students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SBU) are holding a blockade program at Agargaon intersection to demand professional recognition of agriculturists and three-point rights.
On Thursday (August 28), at 11:30 am, the students took a procession from the campus and took up position at Agargaon intersection. Under the banner of Krishibid Oikya Parishad, they called for the realization of their demands by raising various slogans.

Public suffering during the blockade
Due to the blockade, traffic on that road in the Agargaon area was stopped. Office-goers and ordinary passengers suffered greatly.
Three-point demands of the students:
1. No one except those with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture will be able to use the title “Agriculturist” next to their name.
2. Grade 10 jobs in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation should be kept open only for agriculturists.
3. The quota of BADC should be abolished.
Students’ Position
During the blockade, students of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University said,

Translation: they will continue the movement until their demands are accepted.
