Incident on the Train
On early Saturday morning, a shocking incident took place on the Chilahati-bound Simanta Express train coming from Khulna. A member of the notorious “Oggyan Party” gang, identified as Fool Mia (55), tried to rob passengers by making them unconscious.
He offered juice to a mother and daughter, Kaushila Roy (50) and her daughter Bithi Rani (28), who were traveling in seats 78 and 79 of coach “ঝ”. After drinking the juice, both women fainted, and Fool Mia quickly removed their earrings and nose ornaments.
Passenger Suspects Foul Play
One of the nearby passengers, Abdur Rahim, a retired army officer, noticed suspicious behaviour. He immediately alerted other passengers and helped catch Fool Mia red-handed.
At first, Fool Mia denied the accusation. However, the passengers forced him to drink the leftover juice from his bottle. As soon as he drank it, he too fainted, proving the fraud.

Police and Hospital Admission
The Railway Police were immediately informed. Officers on duty rescued the two unconscious victims as well as Fool Mia and took them all to Saidpur Railway Hospital for treatment.
Background of the Accused
Police confirmed that the arrested gang leader Fool Mia, son of Abdus Samad from Abdullahpur in Mithapukur, Rangpur, has several previous cases filed against him at different railway stations across the country.
The victim’s son, Rabindra Nath Roy, later filed a case regarding the incident. Both the victims and Fool Mia were still unconscious when last reported.
