Three Bangladeshi Scholars Appointed as Teachers at Madinah Islamic University

Appointment of Three Bangladeshi Scholars

In an important achievement, three Bangladeshi Islamic scholars have recently been appointed as part-time teachers at the world-famous Madinah Islamic University in Saudi Arabia. Their appointments took place gradually over the last week.

Confirming the news on Saturday (September 13), the most recently appointed scholar, Maulana Sharif Ahmad Al Madani, said:

“সপ্তাহের ব্যবধানে আমরা তিনজন বাংলাদেশি আলেম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টিতে খণ্ডকালীন শিক্ষক হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছি। অন্য দুজন হলেন মাওলানা এরশাদুর রহমান ও মাওলানা মোশাহিদ দেওয়ান।”

Translation: “Within a week, the three of us from Bangladesh have been appointed as part-time teachers at the university. The other two are Maulana Ershadur Rahman and Maulana Mosahhid Dewan.”

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Maulana Sharif Ahmad Al Madani will teach at the Department of Hadith, starting from Sunday (September 14).
  • Maulana Ershadur Rahman has already begun teaching at the Arabic Language Teaching Institute (Ma’had Ta’leem al-Lughah al-‘Arabiyyah).
  • Maulana Mosahhid Dewan is serving as a teacher in the Shariah Department.

Profile of Maulana Sharif Ahmad Al Madani

Sharif Ahmad Al Madani comes from Andiura village in Madhabpur upazila, Habiganj. For the past 12 years, he has been a teacher, examiner, and trainer at the Masjid Al-Nabawi Academy.

In 2012, he went to Madinah on a scholarship for higher studies. Since then, he has completed Bachelor’s, Master’s, and MPhil degrees in Arabic Language and Hadith. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD research at the university.

Before going to Saudi Arabia, he studied at Jamia Arabia Imdadul Uloom Faridabad, Dhaka, where he completed Dawra Hadith (Takmil) and Ifta (Islamic legal studies).

Profile of Maulana Ershadur Rahman

Maulana Ershadur Rahman is from Pashchim Pankhali village, Teknaf upazila, Cox’s Bazar. He began his early education at Jamia Darus Sunnah, Cox’s Bazar, and later completed graduation at Jamea Darul Ma’arif Al-Islamia, Chattogram.

He then moved to Madinah University for higher studies. There, he completed Bachelor’s and MPhil degrees in the Arabic Language Department. Currently, he is doing his PhD research.

His MPhil research focused on “The Influence of Arabic Language on Bangla: A Comparative Study.” This work received special attention at Madinah University because it was the first-ever academic research on the Bangla language conducted there.

Profile of Maulana Mosahhid Dewan

Maulana Mosahhid Dewan is from Narayanganj. In 2016, he received a scholarship from the Saudi Ministry of Education and went to Madinah for higher studies.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Arabic Language (Kulliyatul Lughah al-‘Arabiyyah) and later obtained his Master’s degree in Linguistics (Qismul Lughawiyyat). Currently, he is in the final stage of his MPhil research.

Earlier, he studied at Darul Uloom Madaninagar Madrasa, Dhaka, where he took part in the Takmil (Dawra Hadith) examination and secured 10th position in the combined merit list.
Additionally, from the government Alia Madrasa system, he achieved GPA-5 in both Dakhil and Alim exams. He also completed Fazil under Islamic University, Kushtia.
