A Bangladeshi expatriate named Mohammad Rashed has won Tk 33 lakh (1 lakh dirhams) in Dubai’s famous Big-Ticket Lottery. The announcement came on Friday (12 September) during the 278th draw of the lottery, as reported by Khaleej Times.

In this round, a total of six winners from Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and Jordan each won 1 lakh dirhams, amounting to a total of 6 lakh dirhams.
Life in the UAE and Start of Lottery Journey
Bangladeshi Worker Rashed, a 49-year-old Bangladeshi, has been living in the United Arab Emirates for the past 19 years. He works as a cleaner. Four years ago, he and ten of his friends started buying Big Ticket lottery tickets together every month.
He first came to know about the lottery through a video on TikTok. Since then, the group has regularly bought tickets, hoping to win.
Reaction After Winning
When Rashed came to know that he had finally won, he was overwhelmed with joy. He said the prize money will be equally divided among all 10 of his friends who participated with him.
He shared:
“I have not yet decided what exactly to do with my share of the money. But I will definitely send some part to my family and use the rest to clear my debts.”
Continuing the Dream of Winning
Interestingly, Rashed and his friends did not stop after winning this prize. They have already bought new tickets for the upcoming draw, still hoping for bigger success.
He encouraged others as well, saying:
“I and my friends have already bought tickets again for the next draw. We are waiting eagerly for it. I encourage everyone to take part in the Big Ticket.”
