UK Recognizes Palestine
On 21 September 2025, the United Kingdom officially recognized Palestine as an independent state. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the decision in a formal video message, emphasizing that the move aims to revive the two-state solution and promote long-term peace in the region.
Australia and Canada Follow
Australia also announced recognition of Palestine on the same day. A joint statement signed by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong confirmed the decision, formally recognizing Palestine as a sovereign nation.
Earlier, Canada had already recognized Palestine, becoming the first G7 country to take this step.

Global Recognition
