Tom Holland Injured on Spider-Man Set
Marvel star Tom Holland suffered an injury while filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day in the United Kingdom on Friday. According to insiders, the injury was a mild concussion. Doctors have advised him to rest, and he is expected to return to the set in just a few days.
Sony, the studio behind the movie, confirmed that nobody else was hurt during the incident. The studio will hold a meeting on Monday to decide how to adjust the film’s schedule.
Why This Movie Is Important for Sony
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is seen as one of the most important projects for Sony. The last Spider-Man film, No Way Home (2021), became Sony’s highest-grossing movie of all time, earning $1.91 billion at the global box office.
The earlier movie, Far from Home (2019), was the first Spider-Man film to cross $1 billion and was only Sony’s second movie ever to achieve that milestone after the James Bond hit Skyfall.

Marvel and Sony’s Big Plans
This movie is not only vital for Sony but also for Marvel Studios, which is co-producing the film. It will be Marvel’s only big-screen release before the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, set to arrive in December 2026.
Cast and Crew of Brand-New Day
Unlike Holland’s first three Spider-Man films, which were directed by Jon Watts, the new instalment is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The movie will feature Holland alongside major Marvel stars:
- Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk)
- Jon Bernthal (The Punisher)
Returning Spider-Man regulars include Zendaya and Jacob Batalon.
New faces joining the cast are:
- Sadie Sink (Stranger Things)
- Tramell Tillman (Severance)
Also, Michael Mando will return as The Scorpion, after his brief appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31, 2026.
