During a recent visit to the United States with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, leaders and activists of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) came under attack by supporters of the former government.
At New York Airport, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and NCP central leader Akhtar Hossain, who is also a former DUCSU Social Welfare Secretary, were surrounded by a mob linked to the Awami League.

According to reports, Akhtar Hossain was attacked by members of the banned Awami League group in New York. Later, he shared his reaction through a Facebook post.
In his statement, he wrote:
“এই প্রজন্ম হাসিনার ছোড়া বুলেটে ভয় পায় নাই৷ ওদেরই ছোড়া ডিমে ভয় পাওয়ার প্রশ্নই আসে না।”
Translation: “This generation was not afraid of bullets fired by Hasina. There is no question of being afraid of eggs thrown by them.”
The NCP has strongly condemned this attack and described it as a continuation of political violence beyond Bangladesh’s borders.
