The BCB elections were held at the Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Monday (October 6) from 10 am to 4 pm. According to the constitution, voting was held for 23 director posts from three categories. In addition, two more directors were nominated by the National Sports Council (NSC). After the results were announced, Aminul Islam Bulbul was re-elected as president, which was seen as an expected result by many.

However, immediately after the election results were announced, BNP leader Ishraq Hossain, in a post on his personal Facebook page, called the BCB election a fraudulent selection. He wrote,
