In a heartfelt social media post, Abrar Faiyaj, the younger brother of Abrar Fahad, shared a powerful message on the sixth anniversary of the tragic murder of his brother. His words emphasized that Abrar’s legacy belongs to the entire nation, not to any specific group or political ideology.
A Message of Unity Beyond Boundaries
Faiyaz wrote that Abrar Fahad is not just his brother, but a brother to all Bangladeshis. He stated that Abrar was not limited to BUET or Kushtia, his hometown — rather, he belongs to every educational institution and every district of Bangladesh.
Translation: Abrar Fahad is not only my brother; he is the brother of us all. He is not only from BUET but from every educational institution in this country.
Appeal to Avoid Political Division
Faiyaj further urged all citizens to avoid using the name of martyrs like Abrar for political gain, stressing that such individuals belong to every citizen, regardless of political belief.
Translation: Please do not try to politicize the martyrs. They belong equally to everyone — whether BNP, Jamaat, NCP, Rights Council, or any other political or non-political group in this country.
Symbol of Religious Freedom and National Unity
He described Abrar Fahad as a defender of religious freedom and a symbol of unity among all faiths and ideologies.
Translation: Abrar Fahad stands for every person’s right to practice their religion freely. He is a symbol of our unity.
