Demand to Remove Stadium Near National Mosque

Mufti Sultan Mohiuddin, the Central Organizational Secretary of Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan, has demanded that the National Stadium beside Baitul Mukarram National Mosque be relocated.

He made this statement on Friday (October 10) after the Jummah prayers, during a rally held in front of the mosque. The rally was organized to press for seven demands, including the trial of those who insulted the Holy Quran and the legal recognition of the July Certificate.

“Music and Non-Islamic Activities Must Stop”

Mufti Sultan Mohiuddin said,

“The National Stadium is next to the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. In this stadium, there are songs and musical programs. Under the name of games and entertainment, many non-Islamic activities take place.”

He further added,

“No musical or dance programs should be allowed around the National Mosque. Such acts dishonor the sanctity of the mosque.”

Urging the Government to Relocate the Stadium

Addressing the interim government, Mufti Sultan Mohiuddin said,

“The government should consider removing the National Stadium from beside Baitul Mukarram Mosque and relocating it elsewhere. This space can be used for important government offices or a court complex.”

“Muslims Will Not Tolerate Insult to Islam”

He also warned,

“The Muslims of this country are ready to give their lives for Islam and the Quran. We will not tolerate any insult to Islam, the Prophet (PBUH), or the Holy Quran.”

The statement has sparked discussions about balancing religious sanctity with public facilities located in Dhaka’s central area.
