New Humanitarian Support for Gaza

The United Kingdom has announced a new humanitarian aid package worth £20 million for the people of war-torn Gaza Strip. The funding will be used to improve access to clean water, sanitation, and healthcare for Palestinians who continue to suffer due to the ongoing conflict.

According to a report by BBC, this new financial support is part of the £116 million total aid pledged by the UK government this year for the Palestinian people.

Starmer’s Announcement in Egypt

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has already arrived in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, to attend a high-level international conference. World leaders are meeting there on Monday to discuss US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.

It is expected that Keir Starmer will officially announce this new aid package during the event.

He is also likely to say:

“To ensure full implementation of the peace plan, the UK will support the next phase of negotiations so that people on both sides can safely rebuild their lives.”

Global Leaders Join Peace Conference

The peace conference in Sharm El Sheikh will be co-chaired by Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Several world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, are expected to attend.

In total, leaders from more than 20 countries will take part in this summit. The UN Secretary-General António Guterres may also join the conference to show his support for the peace initiative.
