A tragic and shocking incident happen at Dhaka University’s TSC area, where Yasin, a young flower and chocolate vendor well-known among regular visitors, was attacked and left severely injured. The boy, who often greeted familiar faces with a smile, fell victim to a violent misunderstanding that resulted in the loss of one of his fingers.

Wrongly Accused and Violently Assaulted
The incident occurred after someone threw a stone at a car window near the TSC area. The passengers inside the car wrongly assumed Yasin was responsible. Acting in a fit of rage and cruelty, they got out of the car and slashed his hand, leaving him seriously injured and traumatized. This inhumane act against a young boy struggling to earn a living through honest work has sparked outrage among witnesses and the university community.
Immediate Medical Response
Yasin was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors confirmed that part of his finger had to be amputated due to the severity of the injury. Despite his pain and distress, Yasin recognized Sheikh Tanvir Baree Hamim, a kind-hearted individual who had helped him previously. Upon being contacted, Hamim took full responsibility for Yasin’s treatment and necessary medicines, showing a noble gesture of compassion and humanity.

Support and Cooperation
Two dedicated individuals from Dhaka Medical Monjurul Islam and Abdullah Ar Raihan also played crucial roles in ensuring that Yasin received prompt and proper care. Their timely cooperation helped stabilize the young boy’s condition and secure the needed medical assistance without delay.
Safe Return to His Mother
After receiving medical treatment and essential medication, Yasin was safely returned to his mother near TSC. Though physically scarred, the emotional trauma of such brutality will take much longer to heal.
