A Tragic clash broke out between two villages in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail upazila over a dispute over bathing in a pond. On Friday (October 17) night, residents of Chhota Dewanpara and Hawlapara villages in the upazila attacked each other with indigenous weapons.
Night clash over noon incident
Eyewitnesses said that when Taim and his friends from Hawlapara village went to bathe in the pond of Shakil in Dewanpara in the afternoon, Shakil and Shipon and some others beat them up. The matter quickly spread to the two villages and the situation heated up at night.

Two villages engaged in clash by lighting torch lights
In the darkness of night, more than a hundred people from two villages engaged in clash with indigenous weapons, spears and tents. They lit torch lights and attacked each other. The clash turned into a battleground with chases and counter-chase, and the entire area was thrown at each other.

At least 30 injured, police bring situation under control
At least 30 people from both sides were injured in the clash. Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were treated locally and some of the seriously injured were sent to the hospital, according to local sources.
Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid further clashes. Police said that legal action is under process in this incident.
