On Friday afternoon, following Jumma prayers, Birulia Ulama and Imam Parishad organized the demonstration in Komlapur Bazar. Participants demanded the immediate arrest and punishment of the perpetrators involved in the brutal crime.

The Incident

According to local reports, the 22-year-old BUP (Bangladesh University of Professionals) student was returning home on foot after giving private tuition on Wednesday evening. On her way, she was allegedly abducted by three men — Sohel, Biplob, and Mithu Rosario, known drug addicts from the Goalpara area.

They took her into a nearby jungle in Komlapur and gang-raped her. Out of fear of social stigma, the victim initially did not share the incident with anyone.
