In a recent press conference, Nahid Islam commented on Salahuddin Ahmed’s statement about the July uprising. He said,
“জুলাই গণঅভ্যুত্থানের সময় বিএনপি নেতা সালাহউদ্দিন আহমেদ দেশে ছিলেন না, এজন্য তিনি জুলাইযোদ্ধাদের আওয়ামী দোসর বলছেন। তার জেনে নেয়া উচিত কারা অভ্যুত্থানের সময় সামনে ছিলো। এই মন্তব্যের জন্য তার ক্ষমা চাওয়া উচিত।”
Translation: “During the July uprising, BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed was not in the country, yet he is calling the July fighters allies of Awami League. He should know who was at the forefront during the uprising. He should apologize for this comment.”

Nahid Islam emphasized that attributing false labels to the participants of the July uprising undermines their efforts and misleads the public.
