Incident in Mirsarai
A tragic incident took place in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram on Sunday morning (October 19), where a young man named Yusuf Mia (25) reportedly took his own life after failing to get married. The incident occurred at Purbomayani village under Mayani Union.
“আপনার ব্যবসা এখন অনলাইনে— Storola-এর সাথে সহজ ও স্মার্টভাবে!”
Yusuf was the eldest son of local resident Khurshed Alam.
Family Reveals Emotional Struggle
Family members said Yusuf had been trying to get married for some time but was unsuccessful despite repeated efforts. The recent marriage of his younger brother reportedly made him feel more disheartened and hopeless.
“সাধারণডিমবিক্রিকরেআমরাকীভাবে ১৫ লক্ষকাস্টমারএনেছি—এইবইয়েআছেতারবাস্তবকাহিনি!”
According to relatives, Yusuf hanged himself in the kitchen next to his room early in the morning while other family members were asleep.
What the Family Said
His aunt Khaleda Akhter shared,
“রাতে সে স্বাভাবিকভাবে খেয়ে ঘুমাতে গিয়েছিল। সকালে দেখি ঘরে নেই। রান্নাঘরের দরজা খুলে দেখি রশিতে ঝুলছে। আমার চিৎকারে সবাই ছুটে আসে।”
Translation: “He ate and went to sleep as usual at night. In the morning, I didn’t find him in his room. When I opened the kitchen door, I saw him hanging. I screamed, and everyone rushed to the spot.”

Police Statement
Upon receiving the news, Mirsarai Police Station officers visited the location, recovered the body, and took it to the station for further investigation.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirsarai Police Station, Atikur Rahman, stated:
“প্রাথমিকভাবে জানা গেছে, ইউসুফ মানসিক দুশ্চিন্তা ও হতাশায় ভুগছিলেন। আমরা বিষয়টি তদন্ত করে দেখছি। এ ঘটনায় একটি অপমৃত্যু মামলা প্রক্রিয়াধীন।”
Translation: “Initial investigation suggests that Yusuf was suffering from mental stress and depression. We are looking into the matter, and an unnatural death case is being processed.”
