Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary at the Office of the Chief Adviser, shared his personal academic journey on Facebook. He said, he ranked sixth among over 1,000 students in the first-year final exam at Notre Dame College’s science section but later became complacent, spending hours loitering around the city and playing football and cricket in Motijheel Colony grounds.

Predictably, his HSC results were among the worst of his academic life. He ended up with a bare first division and just two letters, which he believes was the lowest among 122 students in Group One that year. He expressed,

“It took me years—decades even—to overcome that shame. The problem with picking up bad habits in your teenage years is that they tend to stay with you. Shedding them takes years of consistent effort.”

 “আপনার ব্যবসা এখন অনলাইনে— Storola-এর সাথে সহজ ও স্মার্টভাবে!”

He added that having supportive, disciplined siblings and great parents helped him a lot.

“I truly believe that if you work hard, no early failure can hold you back forever.”
