NCP Leader Calls for Citizens’ Support

Hasnat Abdullah, chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) in southern Bangladesh, urged people to join the party if they want to avoid bullets, corruption, and unfair treatment. Speaking at a coordination meeting for NCP in the three Chittagong Hill Tracts districts—Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban—he said:

Translation: “If you don’t want to face bullets and want to stay safe from irregularities, bribery, and corruption, come to NCP. We will honor you. We must stand with those who have faced injustice in past years. If you don’t feel safe in BNP-Jamaat, then come to NCP.”

The meeting took place at Professor Kumar Sumit Rai Gymnasium in Rangamati city on Thursday evening.

A Call for Political Change

Hasnat Abdullah said Bangladesh needs to say no to the ruling Awami League. According to him, wherever NCP takes a stand, other parties like BNP and Jamaat are forced to follow.

Focus on National Reconstruction

Hasnat Abdullah also emphasized that NCP is not focused on alliance politics or seat-sharing, but on rebuilding the nation:

Translation: “We will not ally with those who went against the terrorist extortionists and the July Charter. NCP does not believe in alliances; we believe in rebuilding the nation, not seat-sharing in elections. Even if we get 500 votes without money, goons, or muscle power, it is a great achievement for us. We are not here to play the game; we are here to change the entire rules of the game.”
