Education Minister A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that the government is thinking about introducing a single unified question paper system for SSC and HSC examinations across the country.
He made the statement on Saturday (14 March) during a post-iftar discussion meeting with members of the Education Reporters Association, Bangladesh at his official residence on Minto Road in Dhaka.
Zero Tolerance Against Question Leaks
The minister said the government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy to prevent question leaks and cheating in the upcoming exams.

He said, “To maintain the integrity of the exams starting on April 21, strict monitoring will be ensured at the field level. Soon, discussions will be held with officials of all education boards and others involved in the examination process.”
Ensuring a Cheating-Free Environment
The minister described ensuring a cheating-free environment during examinations as a major challenge.

He said:

Translation: “Completing exams in a cheating-free environment is a big challenge for me. We have succeeded in the past and will continue that trend. Those who try to leak questions using information technology will be dealt with strictly. I will personally visit the field to supervise the overall security of the exams.”

Possibility of One Question Paper Nationwide

Indicating a possible shift from different question papers to a single question paper nationwide, the minister said the idea is being seriously considered.

He said:

Translation: “If major competitive exams around the world can be held with unified question papers, then it is also possible in our country. We are thinking about what can be done to introduce this system from next year.”

Ministry Described as His ‘Place of Worship’

The minister also described the education ministry as his “place of worship.”

He said:

Translation: “Through a 180-day program, I want to create a foundation that will have an impact equivalent to 180 years. My goal is to work steadily so that no wrong steps are taken.”

Dissatisfaction Over Slow Work

The education minister also expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work among ministry officials.

He said,

I have told the officials that they must come out of the conventional mindset and complete their work quickly and efficiently. No one is here to serve personal interests; they are here to work for the improvement of education.”
