Eid Gift for City Corporation Cleaners
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has provided Eid gifts of Tk 5,000 each to sanitation workers of 12 city corporations across the country. The cheques were handed over on Sunday (15 March) around 3:30 PM at the Prime Minister’s office in the Parliament Secretariat. During the event, the Prime Minister handed the cheques to the mayor of Chattogram City Corporation and administrators of other city corporations.

- Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives
- Mir Shahe Alam, State Minister
- Shahadat Hossain
- Administrators of other city corporations

Recognition of Sanitation Workers
Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atikur Rahman Ruman said the financial support was provided to show respect and solidarity with sanitation workers ahead of Eid. He noted that sanitation workers play a crucial role in keeping cities clean and livable, and the initiative was taken to recognize their continuous hard work.
Government’s Commitment to Workers’ Welfare
He also expressed hope that the Prime Minister’s support would increase the joy of Eid for the workers and their families. The government is expected to continue humanitarian and welfare initiatives for workers involved in urban services in the future.
