Remarks at Political Workshop in Gazipur
State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Nur made these remarks on Tuesday (17 March). Nurul Haque Nur was speaking as the chief guest at a political workshop and pre-iftar discussion organized by Gono Odhikar Parishad in Tongi, Gazipur.
‘No Government Can Act So Fast’
In his speech, he said:
“এক মাসে সব প্রতিশ্রুতির বাস্তবায়ন শুরু করবে এমন সরকার বিশ্বে নেই।”
Translation: “There is no government in the world that can start implementing all promises within one month.”
Nurul Haque Nur added that the current government is working toward building a better and more beautiful country. Nurul Haque Nur said that the 2024 mass uprising was driven by movements like:
- Road safety protests
- Quota reform movement
He described these movements as the foundation of recent political change in the country.

Canal Digging and Rural Benefits
Responding to criticism, he said:
“সারা দেশে খাল খনন শুরু হয়েছে… ম্যানুয়াল পদ্ধতিতে খাল খনন হলে গ্রামীণ জনগোষ্ঠীর উপকৃত হবে।”
Translation: “Canal digging has started across the country… manual excavation will benefit rural communities.”
Nurul Haque Nur explained that using manual methods will help create employment opportunities for rural people.
Call for Public Support
He also urged people to pray for the government and leadership. He said:
“আপনারা দোয়া করবেন, আগামী পাঁচ বছর যেন আমরা প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে থেকে দেশটাকে সুন্দরভাবে গড়ে তুলতে পারি।”
Translation: “Pray that we can stay with the Prime Minister for the next five years and build the country in a better way.”
Other Leaders Speak at the Event
At the same event, Member of Parliament M Monjurul Karim Roni also spoke. He said:
“আওয়ামী লীগ নিজেরাই ইফতার করেছে, কাউকে ডাকেনি… আমরা সবাই মিলেমিশে প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের নেতৃত্বে একটি সুন্দর বাংলাদেশ গড়তে চাই।”
Translation: “The Awami League held iftar on their own without inviting others… we all want to build a beautiful Bangladesh together under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s leadership.”
