Allegations of showing lockdown using AI
At the freshman program held at the Janata Degree College ground in Charshahi Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila, BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie said,
আওয়ামী লীগের লকডাউনে কোনো মানুষ নেই। এআই দিয়ে কিছু ছবি তৈরি করে তারা লকডাউন পালন করছে। কিছু নেশাগ্রস্ত উচ্ছৃঙ্খল ছেলেদের দিয়ে টাকার বিনিময়ে প্রধান সড়কে গুপ্তভাবে ভোররাতে একটি ঝটিকা মিছিল করে বাসে আগুন দিয়ে ছবি তুলে তারা ফেসবুকে ছেড়ে দিচ্ছে।
Translation: There are no people in the Awami League lockdown. They are observing the lockdown by creating some pictures with AI. They are secretly organizing a procession on the main road in the early hours of the morning, setting fire to a bus, and posting the pictures on Facebook with some intoxicated and disorderly boys in exchange for money.
Annie said that all political parties under the leadership of BNP have united against Awami League and Sheikh Hasina, saying,
‘শেখ হাসিনা প্রধানমন্ত্রী ছিলেন নিজের ভোটে, নিজের জনপ্রিয়তায় নয়। রাতের অন্ধকারের দখলদারিত্বে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ছিলেন। তিনি রাজনীতি করেননি, আমাদেরও রাজনীতি করতে দেননি।’
Translation: “Sheikh Hasina was the Prime Minister by her own votes, not by her own popularity. She was the Prime Minister by the occupation of the darkness of the night. She did not do politics, and she did not let us do politics either.”
He also said,
‘শেখ হাসিনা বলেছিলেন যারা বাসে আগুন দেবে, তাদের আগুনে পুড়িয়ে দেওয়া হবে। এখন তো তিনি নিজেই নেই। পালিয়ে যাওয়ার আগে আত্মীয়স্বজন সবাইকে বিদেশে পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছেন। তিনি নাকি পালান না, কিন্তু পালিয়ে গেছেন।
Translation: “Sheikh Hasina said that those who set fire to buses will be burned. Now she herself is not there. Before fleeing, her relatives sent everyone abroad. She did not flee, but she did flee.
Stating that the current generation did not flee, she said,
এই তরুণরাই আগামী দিনে বাংলাদেশকে নেতৃত্ব দেবে।
Translation: These young people will lead Bangladesh in the future.
BNP’s allegations: Attacks, cases and corruption
He further alleged,
হাসিনার আমলে বিএনপি নেতাকর্মীদের ওপর হামলা হয়েছে, মামলা হয়েছে, বহু পরিবার গুম-খুনের শিকার হয়েছে। স্বাধীনতার পর আওয়ামী লীগ দুর্নীতি, দুঃশাসন ও দূর্বৃত্তায়নের মাধ্যমে দেশকে বিপর্যস্ত করেছে এবং তাদের হাতেই ছিল মুজিব বাহিনী ও রক্ষী বাহিনী জানান তিনি।
Translation: During Hasina’s tenure, BNP leaders and activists were attacked, cases were filed, many families were victims of disappearances and murders. After independence, the Awami League has devastated the country through corruption, misrule and corruption, and they had the Mujib Bahini and Rakshi Bahini in their hands,
